Counselor's Corner
A Letter from the Counselor, Mrs. Cooper
Mrs. Cooper, School Counselor, talked with both 3rd grade classes today about grief and loss.
Students are encouraged to talk with you about their feelings and questions about death,
respecting each family's religious beliefs. Students were given an opportunity to write a letter
or draw a picture for their fellow student. These letters and drawings will be given to the
family. Mrs. Cooper is available for any student that needs some extra help in dealing with
this tragedy.

Burky Curtis, School-Based Counselor from Youth & Family Resource Center, talked with
7th and 8th grade classes today and was available throughout the day for students having a
difficult time. An information sheet about grief and loss is available on the website. Please do
not hesitate to let us know if you would like some help with your child coping during this
difficult time.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Cooper
